HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 43365-A1 (2)By: GFg AMENDMENT NO 1 to AGREEMENT for ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES A NEW COMMUNITY FACILITY in the EVANS-ROSEDALE BUSINESS & CULTURAL DISTRICT STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO qi9) WHEREAS, The City of Fort Worth and Komatsu/Rangel, Inc. d/b/a Komatsu Architecture (Architect) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 43365 (The Contract) which was duly authorized by Mayor & Council approval by M&C C-25624, the 5th day of June, 2012; and WHEREAS, further amendment is necessary for additional design services to include Additional Services for modification to plans; and NOW THEREFORE, City and Architect, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement which amends the Contract 1 Article 1.1, SECTION I e SERVICES OF THE ARCHITECT, a paragraph is added to read as follows: "Provide design services to include Additional Services to modify plans and to expand original proposal's scope of work. The cost of this Additional Service is $21,597.25. The Additional Services is described more fully in the Komatsu's letter dated May 29, 2013 (rev) subject: Additional Services, New Bethlehem United Community Center, Fort Worth, which is attached hereto as Attachment "A" and made a part of this Agreement." 2 Paragraph 1 of SECTION V - COMPENSATION TO ARCHITECT, is amended as follows: "The total compensation for all of the assignments to be performed by Architect as described in CHARACTER AND EXTENT of ARCHITECT'S SERVICES hereof shall be a fixed fee of ; $375,038.25 plus up to $7,821.200 in reimbursable expenses." 3. On the East Dashwood Street right-of-way the additional scope will include the design of approximately 265 linear feet of sidewalk and curb/gutter removal and replacement. Other additional civil scope items will include Tight pole bases for new street lights along both Humbolt and Dashwood. Excluded is the specifications, delineating of the routing and/or detailing of the electrical conduits for the new street lighting. We also understand the scope of the required additional structural services to include an outdoor basketball court. Geotechnical recommendations for an outdoor court were not provided in the original geotechnical report. However, it is our understanding additional geotechnical recommendations will be provided for the court. Pending these additional geotechnical recommendations, we anticipate the outdoor court will consist of a post -tensioned concrete slab over modified subgrade. We propose to provide engineering services for a lump sum fees shown below which includes reimbursable expenses. (Solare) is pleased to offer the following proposal for the additional services of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services for the referenced project. SCOPE OF SERVICES: ADDITIONAL SERVICES Solare will provide the additional services for changes in the above listed design services for the Bethlehem United Community Center as follows: 1. 2 additional toilet rooms will be added between Classroom 121 and 129. Storage 124 and Jan 126 will be relocated in the vicinity. 2. Toilet Rooms 112, 113, 135, 136 will now have IR activated trough style Lays. 3. A concrete outdoor full basketball court with goals and chain -link fence will be included as an Add Alternate No. 2 (lighting) 4. City approved street lights will be added to both Humbolt and Dashwood. 5. Pantry 105 electrical: 2 floor outlets, 3 on west wall, 1 on east wall, 2 on north wall, 2 on south wall. 6. Rotation of the core. Solare will complete the HVAC and electrical portions of the International Energy Code reports, if required by local officials. The Architect will perform building envelope portions of the report. Drawings will be prepared in AutoCAD Release 2010. ADDITIONAL SERVICES (IF REQUESTED) Energy and/or economic analysis of alternative equipment or systems other than the work required for completion of the mechanical and electrical portions of applicable energy code reports. KOMATSU ARCHITECTURE WILL: Provide building and site base plans in AutoCAD Release 2004 or higher for use by Solare in preparation of engineering drawings. Perform or provide all required printing of plans and specifications for design coordination, submittal for code review, and bid packages. Advise Solare of the applicable codes and design standards. Provide a design schedule for the project and advise Solare of any revisions to the schedule which may occur. COMPENSATION FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES: Solare Engineering will be paid for Additional Services the stipulated sum of $1,500.00, plus reimbursable.LLCApertses times 1.1. g 5/Z4/iv Compensation for other Additional Services will be on the basis of direct salary cost times 2.9 plus reimbursable expenses times 1.1. Please see Attachment B Hourly Billing Ranges for current total billing ranges for Solare personnel. Invoices for services will be submitted monthly and will be due upon receipt. A 2% discount will be credited to the account if Solare Engineering receives payment for services within ten days of the date of the invoice. Accounts that are more than 45 days old will be charged interest at the rate of 1% per month. Additional Services fees will be billed monthly based on the percentage of completion of the Additional Service. The plans will meet the City of Fort Worth 6.301 Landscaping Buffers Landscape Ordinance, 6.302 Urban Forestry Requirements, Tree preservation and mitigation and Near Southside Development Standards. All plan information shall be prepared utilizing AutoCAD software on 22"x34" sheets. Planting Plans: will show location, name and quantity of all proposed and existing plantings. We will utilize native and adaptive plant material as directed by the owner/engineer. Plant Legend & Details: will contain the following information for all proposed plantings: quantity, botanical names, sizes, spacing, minimum height and minimum spread. Sketch details will be provided to aid in the installation of trees (street trees) shrubs and groundcovers. Plant Specifications - Will be prepared to provide guidance and control for all plantings. 3.0 IRRIGATION CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS We will coordinate with our irrigation designer to prepare irrigation plans for a combined plan set with specifications, notes, and details that will meet the City of Fort Worth 6.301 Landscaping Buffers- Landscape Ordinance, 6.302 Urban Forestry Requirements. 4.0 CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION A representative from CDG will include additional lot areas in our job site observations with reports for planting and irrigation installation as requested, irrigation submittal reviews and as built drawings based on contractor mark-ups. FEES AND SCHEDULE Work shall be performed in accordance with your proposed schedule.
