AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF
WEST 11TH STREET AND A PORTION OF WEST 12TH STREET
BETWEEN THROCKMORTON STREET AND HOUSTON STREET,
SITUATED IN THE FORT WORTH CONVENTION CENTER
ADDITION, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TAP:RANT COUNTY, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF
FEE IN SAID LAND; THE RETAINIVIENT OF EXISTING UTILITY
EASEMENTS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That a portion of West 1 l~' Street between Throckmorton Street and Houston Street
situated in the Fort Worth Convention Center Addition, an addition to the City of Fort Worth,
Tarrant County, Texas, containing approximately 201 square feet or 0.004 of an acre of land, and
as more specifically described in Exhibits "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference be and the same is vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That a portion of West 12~' Street between Throckmorton Street and Houston Street
situated in the Fort Worth Convention Center Addition, an addition to the City of Fort Worth,
Tarrant County, Texas, containing approximately 1,909 square feet or 0.044 of an acre of land,
and as more specifically described in Exhibits "B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference be and the samers vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 3.
That the fee to the land in the above described street and alley rights-of--way is released
and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 4.
That all existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities
located in that easement are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 5.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

THROCKMORTON STREET AND HOUSTON STREET TO BE ABANDONED
Being a 0.004 acre tract of land situated in the J. Childress Survey, Abstract No. 250, City of Fort Worth,
Tarrant County, Texas, and being a portion of W. 1 lth Street, said 0.004 acre tract of land being more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at an "X" in concrete found for the intersection of the existing southeast right-of--way line
of W. 11th Street (a 60.0' right-of--way) with the existing northeast right-of-way of Throcl:morton Street
(a 59.0' right-of--way), said "X" in concrete being the west corner of a 1.0' right-of-way abandonment as
vacated by City of Fort Worth Ordinance No. 17490-04-2007;
THENCE North 29 degrees 59 minutes 30 seconds West, with the proposed northeast right-of-way
line of said Throclunorton Street, a distance of 1.00 foot to an "X" in concrete set for the
intersection of the proposed northeast right-of-way line of said Throckmorton Street with
the proposed southeast right-of-way line of said W. 11th Street;
THENCE North b0 degrees 00 minutes 30 seconds East, with the proposed southeast right-of-way
line of said W. 11th Street, a distance of 201.00 feet to an "X" in concrete set for the
intersection of the proposed southeast right-of--way line of said W. 1 lth Street with the
proposed southwest right-of way Tine of Houston Street (an &0.0' right-of-way);
THENCE South 29 degrees 59 minutes 30 seconds East, with the proposed southwest right-of-way
line of said Houston Street, a distance of 1.00 foot to an "X" in concrete found for the
intersection of the existing southeast right-of-way line of said W. l lth Street with the
existing southwest right-of-way line of said Houston Stl-eet, said "X" in concrete being
the north corner of Lot 1, Section 7R of Fort Worth Convention Center Addition, an
addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas as recorded in Cabinet A,

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt an ordinance vacating a portion of the West 11th Street right-of-way between Throckmorton Street
and Houston Street, being approximately 1 foot wide by 201 feet long consisting of 201 square feet of land,
adjacent to Lot 1, Section 7R1, Fort Worth Convention Center Addition, located in the City of Fort Worth, as
filed in Cabinet A, Slide 11331 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas;
2. Adopt an ordinance vacating a portion of the West 12th Street right-of-way between Throckmorton Street
and Houston Street, being approximately 9.5 feet wide by 201 feet long consisting of 1,909 square feet of
land, adjacent to Lot 1, Section 7R1,Fort Worth Convention Center Addition, located in the City of Fort
Worth, as filed in Cabinet A, Slide 11331 of the Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas; and
3. Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City policy (M&C G-15624).
DISCUSSION:
The City of Fort Worth requests to vacate the above referenced right-of-way and to replat and incorporate it
within the adjoining property to accommodate architectural building elements on the new Fort Worth
Convention Center Parking Garage. The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its
meeting on May 23, 2007. An acceptable replat (FS-007-048) has been received.
The City of Fort Worth originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through the platting process.
The City owns land adjacent to the above referenced right-of-way. Since no City funds have been expended
to purchase property or easement rights, and the City will continue to own the property adjacent to the right-
of-way after it is vacated, collection of the fee value or any portion thereof is recommended by staff to be
waived.
This request is in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9.

The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
