SUBJECT: SUBMISSION OF 2020 CERTIFIED APPRAISAL ROLL AND
1875 CERTIFIED COLLECTION RATE
The purpose of this informal report is to submit the 2020 Certified Appraisal Roll and the certified
collection rate.
Pursuant to Section 26.01 of the Texas Property Tax Code, by July 25 or as soon as practicable
thereafter, the Chief Appraiser shall prepare and certify to the assessor for each taxing unit
participating in the district that part of the appraisal roll for the district that lists the property taxable
by the unit.
During the week of July 20, 2020, the chief appraisers of Tarrant County, Parker County and Wise
County prepared and certified the appraisal roll for the City of Fort Worth. The Denton County chief
appraiser submitted certified estimates, as per section 26.01 (a-1) of the Texas Property Tax Code.
Incorporated property within Johnson County is not taxable.
Value 2019 2020 Increase % Increase
Total Appraised Value $103,362,693,745 $109,589,513,027 $6,226,819,282 6.02%
Certified Net Taxable Value $73,415,770,835 $72,522,054,995 ($893,715,840) -1.22%
Estimated Net Taxable Value $76,994,164,245 $79,878,186,534 $2,884,022,289 3.75%
An estimated net taxable value is included because certified values do not reflect appraisals that
are incomplete or pending protest. Staff uses prior year actual data and adjusts the Certified Net
Taxable Value to reflect the projected impact of the incompletes and pending protests to provide a
more complete estimate of final values and projected revenues. The FY2021 City Manager's
recommended budget is based on an estimated final net taxable value of $79,878,186,534.
Section 26.04 of the Texas Property Tax Code requires the Tax Collector to certify the anticipated
collection rate to the taxing unit for the current year.
On July 21 , 2020, the Tarrant County Tax Assessor/Collector's office certified the anticipated
collection rate for the City of Fort Worth for tax year 2020 at 100%.
