Home My WebLink AboutResolution 450 .r A Resolution WHEREAS, the Fort Worth City Council has reviewed the provisions of Senate Bill Number 189; and WHEREAS, the Fort Worth City .Council has reviewed the provisions of House Bill Number 475; and WHEREAS, the Fort Worth City Council has reviewed the provisions of Senate Bill Number 367; and WHEREAS, the purpose of Senate Bill Number 189 and House Bill 475 is to make it illegal for a city or town to require residency within the city for city employees; and WHEREAS, the purpose of Senate Bill Number 367 is to make it illegal for a city to require residency within the city for city employees and to prohibit hiring city employees beyond 100 miles from the.city boundary; and WHEREAS, residency requirements and restrictions for Fort Worth city employees may vary during different time periods and may be different from other cities; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City Council of Fort Worth, Texas, does not support the passage of Senate Bill Number 189, House Bill Number 475, or Senate Bill Number 367 and urge that these bills should not be adopted.
