Derek, The Concrete removal item will have a different unit rate for a few reasons, here they are: 1. The paving being removed is 10"thick instead of 8"thick like the original pay item accounts for. 2. The areas are small in comparison to the bulk demo of the original contract. 3. We had to saw cut the paving into blocks for easier removal to not destroy the lime sub-grade underneath that we reused. 4. We had to use smaller equipment and take more time to remove carefully to not damage the new paving around the demo areas. These are the reasons as to why the original concrete removal item will not work for the plan revision work. We would lose money at that rate. The item# 1D 1-02 should be item# 1D 1-04 and have a rate of$2.32 per LF The item 1D 1-03 should be item# 1D 1-06 and have a rate of$6.96 per LF This are the items I can shed light on.The other comments you have need to be addressed by the design engineer. I am not 100%sure how to address those.
