Project Manager City of Fort Worth Re: Proposal for Professional Engineering Services Wagley Robertson Drainage Improvements Dear Vibhuti Pandey, P.E.: Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (KHA) is pleased to submit our proposal for professional engineering services to the City of Fort Worth (City) for the Wagley Robertson Drainage Improvements Project. This project consists of designing two bridge class culvert structures under Wagley Robertson Road and within Big Fossil Creek. The two bridge class culverts will replace two existing drainage structures that are undersized and do not have the capacity to convey the 2-year storm event, much less the 100-year storm event. Wagley Robertson Road is often inundated during large storm events and the roadway has to be closed down to motorist. The Wagley Robertson Drainage Improvements Project will address these flooding concerns. The attached proposal outlines services for the following tasks: Task 1. Task 2. Task 3. Task 4. Task 5. Task 6. Task 7. Task 8. Task 9. Task 10. Design Management Conceptual Design Preliminary Design Final Design Bid Phase Services -NOT INCLUDED Construction Phase Services -NOT INCLUDED ROW/Easement Services Survey Services Permitting Plan Submittal Checklists and Additional Services These tasks will be performed for a lump sum fee of $200,000.00. A level of effort summary is provided in the proposal. KHA will be working with Gorrondona and Associates, Inc., the Rios Group, and CMJ Engineering, Inc. on this project. All three of these Subconsultants are considered to be SBE firms and KHA, anticipates 21.9% of the project will be directed towards SBEs. Both the CITY and ENGINEER have attempted to clearly define the work to be performed and address the needs of the Project. Under this scope, `ENGINEER" is expanded to include any sub -consultant, including surveyor, employed or contracted by the ENGINEER OBJECTIVE Wagley Robertson Road is located between Bonds Ranch Road and Bailey Boswell in north Fort Worth. This roadway has a history of being inundated with water during routine rain events which sometimes requires City staff to close the roadway to prevent motorist from entering the high water over the roadway. This project consists of designing a new culvert crossing within Big Fossil Creek (BFC) to convey the 100-year storm event. In addition, a second culvert crossing will be designed within a tributary to BFC which is referred to as BFC-28. BFC-28 is located approximately 200 feet south of the BFC crossing The design will consider the ultimate roadway improvements and ultimate typical section (4-Lane divided concrete roadway with concrete curb and gutter) with regards to setting the horizontal location of the roadway, however, it is anticipated that only a 2-lane asphalt roadway will be constructed within the limits of construction. It is also anticipated that the crossings will be box culverts, not bridges. Task 1. Task 2. Task 3. Task 4. Task 5. Task 6 Task 7. Task 8 Task 9 Task 10.
