On April 19, 2013, Freese and Nichols (FNI) submitted a schematic for Risinger Road with three alignment options and typical section options. After the City selects the alignment and typical section for the overall Risinger Road project, Freese and Nichols will proceed with a roundabout design at the Hemphill intersection. Revised Proiect Scope The roundabout design will require future traffic volumes for AM and PM peak hours to be calculated as well as the proposed level of service. An operational performance analysis will need to be performed based on delay and queuing criteria to determine the complete lane configuration diagram. A conceptual roundabout will be added to the schematic and submitted for approval by the City. With the revised schematic, FNI will also submit a cost estimate comparison between the roundabout and a traffic signal at this intersection to aid in discussion. Once the conceptual design is approved, FNI will proceed with the 30% design plans. Since the roundabout will be for two lanes in each direction with four legs in the intersection, we anticipate an additional nine sheets will be necessary to provide adequate plan, profile, and striping at the 30% level. Compensation We request a lump sum contract fee modification of $22,542. Please see the attached Level of Effort spreadsheet for a breakdown of the fee. If you have any questions concerning this proposal, please do not hesitate to me at 817-735-7296. Thank you for this op,ortunity, aM Jessica Andrews, P.E. Project Manager Chris Bosco, P.E. Principal
