Inc. OFFICIAL RECORD CIT' '§'TARY FT. WORTH, TX Exhibit A Artist's Preliminary Design wlrillllli I worked on several design approaches to this public art opportunity, and I kept coming back to images related to the river. I am fascinated by the wave form, which is an expression of motion in water and air, or in any liquid or gas, and for that matter we can see the artifacts of wave motion in many solid objects. So, I played with the wave form until I combined three waves into the sculpture that is represented here. It was only after I fell in love with this form that I started to think of a name for it. That only took a moment as it is obvious that the entry to the First Street Bridge should declare the name of the river over which it is passing. The Trinity wave sculpture describes visually both the river's flowing nature and its name.
