AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF
EAST CENTRAL AVENUE DETWEEN GROVE STREET AND THE
FORT WORTH AND DALLAS RAILROAD COMPANY TRACT,
SITUATED IN THE NORTH FORT WORTH ADDITION, AN ADDITION
TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTI~, TAR1EtANT COUNTY, TEXAS, AS
RECORDED IN VOLUME 9440, PAGE 2110 OF THE DEED RECORDS
OF TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS; AND A PORTION OF NE 21st
STREET BETWEEN GROVE STREET AND THE FORT WORTH AND
DALLAS RAILROAD COMPANY TRACT SITUATED IN THE
M.G.ELLIS ADDITION, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME
63, PAGE 19 OF THE PLAT RECORDS OF TA,IZRANT COUNTY,
TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND;
THE RETAINMENT OF EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That a portion of East Central Avenue between North Grove Street and the Fort Worth
and Dallas Railroad Company tract situated in the North Fort Worth Addition, an addition to the
City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, as recorded in Volume 9440, Page 2110 of the Deed
Records of Tarrant County, Texas containing approximately 20,000 square feet or 0.46 of an acre
of land, and as more specifically described in Exhibits "A" attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference be and the same is vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That a portion of NE 21St Street between North Grove Street and the Fort Worth and
Dallas Railroad Company tract situated in the M.G. Ellis Addition, an addition to the City of Fort
Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 19 of the Plat Records of Tarrant
County, Texas containing approximately 17,625 square feet or 0.40 of an acre of land, and as
more specifically described in Exhibits "B" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference
be and the same is vacated and extinguished.
SECTION 3.
That the fee to the land in the above described street and alley rights-of--way is released
and shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 4.
That all existing utility easements shall be retained by the City until such time all utilities
located in that easement are relocated at the owner's expense.
SECTION 5.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6.
That this ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating a portion of two right-of-ways as
follows:
1. A portion of the East Central Avenue right-of-way adjacent to the Fort Worth and Dallas Railroad right-of-
way (known as the Fort Worth & Western Railroad), being approximately 100 feet wide by 200 feet long
consisting of 0.46 acres of land, in the North Fort Worth Addition located in the City of Fort Worth, as filed in
Volume 9440, page 2110 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas;
2. A portion of the NE 21st Street right-of--way between North Grove Street and the Fort Worth and Dallas
Railroad right-of-way, being approximately 60 feet wide by 280 feet long consisting of 0.40 acres of land, in
the M.G. Ellis Addition located in the City of Fort Worth, as filed in Volume 63, Page 19 of the Plat Records
of Tarrant County, Texas; and
3. Waive any and all purchase fee value of the vacated land in accordance with City policy (M&C G-15624).
DISCUSSION:
Ferro Corporation requests to vacate the above referenced rights-of-way and to replat and incorporate it
within the adjoining property to improve the security of their property. The City Plan Commission
recommended approval of this request at its meetings on April 26, 2006 and May 24, 2006. An acceptable
replat (FS-06-050) has been received. Any existing utilities will be relocated at the applicant's expense, or
retained within a designated easement, along with an appropriate plat note that no permanent structures
may be constructed or placed thereon.
The City of Fort Worth originally obtained the above mentioned right-of-way through the platting process.
The City does not own land under or adjacent to the above referenced right-of-way. Since no City funds
have been expended to purchase property or easement rights, collection of the fee value or any portion
thereof is recommended by staff to be waived.
This request is in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2.

The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
