AN ORDINANCE INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT OPERATING FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $200,000 AND
DECREASING THE UNRESERVED, UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE BY THE
SAME AMOUNT, FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSFERRING SAID FUNDS TO
THE STREET SWEEPING PROJECT IN THE ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT PROJECT FUND; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2007-
2008 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased appropriations in the
Environmental Management Operating Fund in the amount of $200,000 and decreasing the
unreserved, undesignated fund balance by the same amount, for the purpose transferring said
funds to the Street Sweeping Project n the environmental Project Fund.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid,
inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or
judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this
ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 17749 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance
are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said
conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
ADOPTED AND EFFECTIVE: October 16. 2007
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Authorize Execution of the First Renewal of City Secretary Contract No. 33960 with Sweeping
Services of Texas Operating, L.P., for the Street Sweeping Program at Various Locations, Authorize
Transfer of Funds and Adopt Appropriation Ordinances
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing appropriations in the Environmental Management
Operating Fund by $200,000 and decreasing unreserved, undesignated fund balance by the same amount;
2. Approve the transfer of $200,000 in undesignated funds from the Environmental Management Operating
Fund to the Street Sweeping Project in the Environmental Management Project Fund;
3. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the
Environmental Management Project Fund by $200,000; and
4. Authorize the City Manager to execute the first renewal of City Secretary Contract No. 33960 with
Sweeping Services of Texas Operating, L.P., for the Street Sweeping Program at various locations.
DISCUSSION:
On August 3, 2006, (M&C C-21591) the City Council approved City Secretary Contract No. 33960, with
Sweeping Services of Texas Operating, L.P., for street sweeping at various locations. The contract was for
one year with two one-year renewal options.
Funding for this project is provided by the Environmental Management Department ($200,000) and the
Transportation and Public Works Department ($34,010), which is allocated from their operating funds.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available, as appropriated, in the Environmental
Management Project Fund.
