HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 458 A Resolution WHEREAS, the Concept of Crime Resistance embraces the attitude that individual citizens will take steps to resist crime in their community in support of crime reduction programs, if provided the proper leadership. WHEREAS, the Crime Resistance Task Force embraces an attitude where crime does not pay, personal safety is a cherished right and an accepted fact, and where administration of justice is swift, fair, effective, and respected; and WHEREAS, Fort Worth is noted for the quality of its moral climate, known for its respect of public property and the property rights of all of its citizens, and whose institutions are committed to programs and/or activities which are designed to maintain citizen- awareness and develop citizens' skills in crime resistance; and WHEREAS, a sizeable number of citizens are committed to altering and addressing the root causes of crime and violence, and to identifying the major causes of crime, and prevention of crime is effectively accomplished only through grass roots citizen participation in resisting crime; and WHEREAS, concerned citizens in Fort Worth have to resist crime, and the Citizens Crime Resistance Task Force can provide this service and has successfully resisted crime at Christmastime; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Fort Worth commend the Crime Resistance Task Force for its accom- plishments and further, that the City Council encourage, support, and further the continued efforts of the Citizens Task Force to accom- plish the goals and objectives set forth.
