REQUESTING FUNDING IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $150,000 FROM
THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR, BUREAU OF RECLAMATION,
WATERSMART TITLE XVI WATER RECLAMATION AND REUSE PROGRAM
FOR THE CENTRAL FORT WORTH RECLAIMED WATER SYSTEM
FEASIBILITY STUDY
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Reclamation provides
funding opportunities for reclaimed water feasibility studies as part of the Bureau of
Reclamation's WaterSMART Title XVI Water Reclamation and Reuse Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth, Texas (the "City ") deems it necessary to
apply to the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Reclamation for grant funding in an
amount not to exceed $150,000 for a feasibility study of a potential Central Fort Worth
Reclaimed Water System that would create water markets and make more efficient use of
existing water supplies; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department
of Interior Bureau of Reclamation WaterSMART Title XVI Water Reclamation and
Reuse Program, which governs the procedures of making such application, the governing
body of the City is required to adopt a resolution to accompany such application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
1. That the City Manager hereby requests that the U. S. Department of Interior
Bureau of Reclamation under the WaterSMART Title XVI Water
Reclamation and Reuse Program grant funding to the City in an amount not
to exceed $150,000 to the City for a feasibility study of a potential Central
Fort Worth Reclaimed Water System as further described in the application
for financial assistance.
2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute and submit to the
U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Reclamation WaterSMART Title XVI
Water Reclamation and Reuse Program a grant application for such financial
assistance.

3. That the City Manager is further specially authorized to make the required
assurances to the U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Reclamation in
accordance with the rules, regulations and policies of the U.S. Department of
Interior Bureau of Reclamation WaterSMART Title XVI Water Reclamation
and Reuse Program.
4. That matching funds in support of the project, in the amount of $122,017
will be provided through in -kind contribution of salaries and through funds
available in the Water and Sewer Operating Budget.
5. That the Tarrant Regional Water District has agreed to contribute funds to
the City in support of the project, in the amount of $32,000.
6. That, if the application is selected for an award, the City will work with the
U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Reclamation to meet established
deadlines for entering into a grant funding agreement.
7. That this Resolution was considered in a meeting open to the public and
public notice of the time, place and purpose of the said meeting was given
pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code and that a certified
copy of this Resolution shall be attached to the grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
