COUNCIL ACTION: Approved on 3/27/2012 Resolution No. 4078 -03 -2012
DATE: Tuesday, March 27, 2012

SUBJECT:
Adopt a Resolution Closing a Portion of Irma Street at the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing Between
Magnolia Avenue and East Rosedale Street (COUNCIL DISTRICT 8)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution closing a portion of Irma Street at the Union
Pacific Railroad crossing between Magnolia Avenue and East Rosedale Street.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Fort Worth entered into an Agreement with TxDOT to share the cost of constructing a new
railroad bridge for Union Pacific Railroad and widening East Rosedale Street to six lanes. The
construction of the new railroad bridge requires the elevation of the existing railroad track between East
Rosedale and Irma Street be changed. This change in railroad track elevation will make the Irma Street
crossing impassable. The City Plan Commission recommended approval of this request at its meeting on
June 25, 2008.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8.
