HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 585 R$SOi U lUN F'TLE N A I� ►luti®n -� WHEREAS, Section 43-1 of Chapter 43, Code of Ethics of the Code of the City of Fort Worth (1964) , as amended, provides in part that no officer or employee of the City, or their spouses, shall knowingly accept any gift or favor from any person, corporation or association of persons licensed by the City or by any department, agency, commission, or board on which the officer or employee serves ; and WHEREAS, at this particular time of the year there are many social activities to which City employees are invited by members of trade or professional groups or associates without thought or intent that their performance of duty be influenced in any manner; and WHEREAS, it was not nor is it the intent of the City Council, by adoption of the Ethics Code, to inhibit officers or employees from attending purely social events, seasonal or otherwise, which are not intended nor can they be reason- ably construed to influence such officers or employees in the discharge of their official duties; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH SECTION 1 That officers and employees of the City are not restricted in nor inhibited from accepting invitations to or participation in ceremonial functions, community or organization celebrations, seasonal or otherwise, which are not intended nor reasonably to be construed as tending to influence such officers or employees in the discharge of their official duties.
