HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 586 RESOLUT,T v,) A Resolution __._ WHEREAS, the City Council of Fort Worth, Texas, has recently considered several areas for potential change within our Solid Waste Management Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth recently completed a Feasibility Study of a Solid Waste Processing Facility conducted by Henningson, Durham & Richardson; and WHEREAS, the President's recent Urban Policy granted EPA $15 million for financial assistance to carry on a solid waste resource recovery program with selected urban areas; and WHEREAS, the cost of a continuation, in-depth resource recovery will be shared in part by the City of Arlington and Tarrant County, with EPA bearing the major portion of the cost; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the City Council of Fort Worth, Texas, endorses the pre-application kit to be submitted jointly by the City of Fort Worth, the City of Arlington, and Tarrant County, and requests that the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency allocate funds for this project in accordance with criteria set forth in its program for Financial Assistance for Resource Recovery Project Development under the President's Urban Policy. i t CITY OF FORT WORTS
