SUBJECT:
Accept Donation of $21,059 from the United Riverside Neighborhood Association for Improvements
to Louella Bales Baker Park and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Accept a donation of $21,059 from the United Riverside Neighborhood Association for improvements to
Louella Bales Baker Park, and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Park
Improvements Fund by $21,059, upon receipt of the donation, for improvements to Louella Bales Baker

DISCUSSION:
Dale Resources, LLC, has offered a $20,000 donation to the United Riverside Neighborhood Association for
the purpose of installing improvements at Louella Bales Baker Park. Upon acceptance of the donation, the
United Riverside Neighborhood Association desires that the Parks and Community Services Department
use the funds for the construction of a 16 foot by 24 foot metal shelter with two picnic tables, and extend the
sidewalk in the park to complete a loop around the park. The association will make a donation of $1,059 to
provide funds necessary to complete this project.
The Parks and Community Services Department will provide the labor for the construction and installation of
the enhancements, and the association will pay the City of Fort Worth $21,059 for supplies and materials.
The Parks and Community Services Advisory Board endorsed the staffs recommendation to the City
Council to accept this donation at their meeting on October 24, 2007.
Louella Bales Baker Park is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that the Parks and Community Services Department is responsible for the
collection and deposit of funds from this donation.
