HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012/02/28-Minutes-City CouncilCITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS CITY COUNCIL BUS TOUR — DISTRICT 5 Tuesday, February 28, 2012, 1:00 p.m. MINUTES Mayor and City Council Members Present Betsy Price, Mayor Salvador Espino, District 2 Frank Moss, District 5 Jungus Jordan, District 6 Dennis Shingleton, District 7 Kathleen Hicks, District 8 Absent Zim Zimmerman, Mayor Pro tempore, District 3 Danny Scarth, District 4 Joel Burns, District 9 City Staff Tom Higgins, City Manager Susan Alanis, Assistant City Manager Charles Daniels, Assistant City Manager Fernando Costa, Assistant City Manager Sarah Fullenwider, City Attorney Mary Kayser, City Secretary Gleniece Robinson, Library Director Richard Zavala, Parks and Community Services Director Dana Burghdoff, Deputy Planning and Development Director Michelle Reynolds, Council Aide in District 5 CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS CITY COUNCIL BUS TOUR — DISTRICT 5 February 28, 2012 Page 2 of 2 With a quorum of the City Council members present, the Council and staff boarded a bus at the northeast corner of Fort Worth City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton Street, Fort Worth, Texas 76102, at 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, to begin their tour of City Council Member Moss's District 5. The bus tour began with a tour of District 5, which is generally bounded by Fort Worth city limits on the north, east and south, and by Precinct Line Road, Sandy Lane Road, Miller Avenue, US 287, and Shackleford Road on the west. The District 5 tour included the following streets and districts: 1. Trinity Boulevard 2. Centreport 3. Precinct Line Road, Randle Mill Road, and Eastchase Parkway 4. Brentwood Stair Road 5. Handley Drive 6. Lancaster Avenue 7. Stop Six neighborhood 8. Cravens Road and Wilbarger Street 9. East Loop 820 10. Mansfield Highway 11. Miller Avenue 12. East Berry Street During the tour, Councilmember Moss pointed out existing neighborhoods, schools, parks, City facilities, industrial areas, transportation projects, gas wells, and future development sites. Fire Department staff also provided a brief tour of Fire Station #27 on Precinct Line Road. With the tour completed, the City Council returned to Fort Worth City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton, Fort Worth, Texas 76102, at 3:45 p.m., on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.
