Gonzales, Acting City Secretary With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the City Council Work Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order 3:02 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, in City Council Conference Room 2020 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. 1. Report of the City Manager- David Cooke, City Manager a. Changes to the City Council Agenda There were no changes to the City Council agenda. b. Upcoming and Recent Events City Manager Cooke announced that an Open House was scheduled for August 5, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at the Dunbar High School Gym, 5700 Ramey Avenue. Individuals can meet with city staff and learn how to get involved. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s) Mayor Parker announced Leonard Firestone as the new Vice Chair of the Audit Committee, and new members were Carlos Flores and Jared Williams. Council Member Flores called on Matt Zavadsky, MedStar to present a Lifesaver Award. Mr. Zavadsky explained that a shooting call was received the evening of July 1, 2021, located at Rosedale Plaza Park, 1501 Liberty Street. Police Officers Timothy Kinman and Brandon Connor arrived at the location before MedStar and saved the life of the victim by applying tourniquets to the victim's legs. Mr. Zavadsky added that the family has reported that the victim is at home recovering. Assistant City Manager Dana Burghdoff recognized the library for winning the John Cotton Dana National Award for outstanding marketing campaigns for the Amplify 817 Campaign. She introduced Manya Shorr who provided additional information on the award, and recognized members of her staff who worked on the campaign. d.
