(CD 2) Authorize the Temporary Closure of North Houston Street from 24th Street to 25th Street, Ellis Street from 24th Street to 25th Street, and
West Exchange Avenue from Clinton Street to Ellis Street from September 1, 2021 to September 17, 2021 for Construction Activities
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the temporary closure of North Houston Street from 24th Street to 25th Street, Ellis Street from
24th Street to 25th Street, and West Exchange Avenue from Clinton Street to Ellis Street from September 1, 2021 to September 17, 2021 for
construction activities.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) requests the temporary closure of North Houston Street from 24th
Street to 25th Street, Ellis Street from 24th Street to 25th Street, and West Exchange Avenue from Clinton Street to Ellis Street for the 1883 Film
project. The 1883 Film project includes the transformation of a section of Fort Worth to replicate the look as it was in 1883 for film production,
removal of street lighting, and filling the roadway with dirt. A closure is necessitated to allow loading and unloading of equipment and for the
staging of the film.
Traffic control plans for this project have been previously accepted.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 2.
A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that approval of this recommendation will have no material effect on City funds.
