RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize execution of an engineering agreement with Jones & Carter, Inc., in the amount of $226,313.00 for Water and Sanitary Sewer
Replacement Contract 2020, WSM-A project; and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water and Sewer Capital Projects Fund
in the amount of $362,998.00 for the Water and Sanitary Sewer Replacements Contract 2020, WSM-A project (City Project No. 103361)
transferred from available funds within the Water and Sewer Fund.
DISCUSSION:
This Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for sanitary sewer and water main
replacements in the amount of $226,313.00 and appropriate additional funding on the following streets, alleys and easements:

In addition to the contract amount, $136,685.00 (Water: $69,160.00; Sewer: $67,525.00) is required for project management, real property
acquisition, utility coordination, and material testing. This project will have no impact on the Water Department's operating budget when completed.
The sewer component of the project is part of the Water Department's Sanitary Sewer Overflow Initiative Program. Appropriations for Water and
Sanitary Sewer Replacement, Contract 2020, WSM-A project are as depicted below:

Business Equity: Jones & Carter, Inc., is in compliance with the City's Business Equity Ordinance by committing to ten percent Business Equity
participation on this project. The City's Business Equity goal on this project is nine percent.
The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that funds are currently available in the Water and Sewer Fund, and upon approval of the above recommendation
and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the W&S Capital Projects Fund for the W&S Contract 2020 WSM-
A project to support the approval of the above recommendations and execution of the engineering agreement. Prior to any expenditure being
incurred, the Water Department has the responsibility of verifying the availability of funds.
