SUBJECT: FINAL PERFORMANCE STATEMENT - 2019 CITY OF FORT WORTH
r 7, ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE
For more than 20 years, the City of Fort Worth employees, and the community have come together in the
fight to end hunger in our community. On June 3rd, 2019, the city kicked off its 2019 Annual Food Drive
campaign, benefiting the Tarrant Area Food Bank. For the second year in a row, Municipal Court took the
lead by organizing the department coordinators and overall drive. Twenty-three city departments participated
in raising funds and pounds of food, along with eight neighborhood associations. Events varied from an on-
line auction, bake sales, food trucks, internal competitions and the first ever "Farmer's Market". It was fun,
as well as competitive.
Final totals for the 25 day event were:
Cash Donations:
CFW department totals: $42,102.29
CFW N.A. totals: $ 4,885.00
Grand total: $46,987.29
Food Pounds:
CFW department donations total: 10,963 pounds
CFW N.A. donations total: 2,273 pounds
Grand total: 13,236 pounds
This campaign donation is expected to provide 243,041 meals for our community.
This annual event, which is held in the summer, helps to provide needed meals for children who lose access
to free and reduced -price school meals during the summer months. The city will continue this important
commitment, therefore ensuring access to food for our community. According to Tarrant Area Food Bank
web -site: "With their (City of Fort Worth and Neighborhood Associations) help and your help, we can
make sure that families have food this summer and beyond."
