Site and Community Partnerships
Cultural District, Downtown, and Stockyards sites are visitor-focused
o Build on existing relationships with visitor, civic, infrastructure focused
organizations and private entities
Trinity River sites are focused on residents
o Look at places of connection -existing and future
o Seek partnerships to incorporate temporary art exhibits and installations
Build on capital improvements the City and other entities are planning

RECOMMENDATION:
•Ongoing project guided by the overall approach for Iconic Artworks

Downtown: Convention Center
RECOMMENDATIONS:
•Utilize available Iconic Artwork funds ($1,335,700)to seed the project
•With partners identify an ideal location
•Seek funding partners
•To begin upon City Council’s approval
of this Iconic Artworks Strategic Plan
•For Convention Center Allocate 4%:
•2% for an exterior Iconic Public Artwork
•2% for interior artworks
City Manager recommends 2% total for
an exterior iconic and interior artworks.

Trinity River: Gateway Park +
RECOMMENDATIONS:
•Approach the Trinity River as a location for a series of public art projects of
which Gateway Park Project would be the first
•Partnering with Streams and Valleys, Inc., and others to identify potential
sites recommended in Confluences: Trinity River Strategic Plan

•Defer until new development reveals a suitable site with the appropriate
attributes (e.g., a ‘gathering place’) and funding partners are identified
