Authorize Execution of a Contract with Omega Contracting, Inc., in the Amount of $793,603.00 for Concrete Street Restoration at Three Locations
(COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3 and 8)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the execution of a contract with Omega Contracting, Inc., in the amount of $793,603.00 for 2020
Concrete Street Restoration Contract 3 at three locations.
DISCUSSION:
In the Fiscal Year 2020 Pay -Go Contract Street Maintenance Program, various types of street maintenance are grouped into specific contract
packages. The 2020 Concrete Restoration Contract 3 provides for the repair and reconstruction of failed concrete pavement at Altamesa
Boulevard from Sheridan Road to Hemphill Street, Bryant Irvin Road from West Vickery Boulevard to Bellaire Drive South and Campus Drive
from East Seminary Drive to South East Loop 820 (City Project No. 102100).
Construction for this project is expected to start approximately October 2019 and to be completed by approximately April 2020. Upon completion
of the project there will be no anticipated impact on the general fund operating budget.
This project was advertised forbid on June 6, 2019 and June 13, 2019 in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram. On July 11, 2019, the following bids were
received:

M/WBE OFFICE — Omega Contracting, Inc., is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 16% MBE participation on this
project. The City's MBE goal on this project is 7%. Additionally, Omega Contracting, Inc. is a certified M/WBE firm.
The City reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities of individual pay items within the contract provided that the total contract amount
remains within plus or minus 25 percent of the contract award.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3 and 8.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that funds will be available contingent on the approval of the Fiscal Year 2020 capital budget appropriation of the
General Capital Projects Fund. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works Department has the responsibility to
validate the availability of funds.
