AUTHORIZING APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF
FISCAL YEAR 2019 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT FROM
THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of the City
of Fort Worth that the following projects (collectively, the "Projects") be operated:
• Urban Area Security Initiative Grant 2981305
— Critical Infrastructure/Key
Resource Project in the amount of $300,933;
• Urban Area Security Initiative Grant 2981405
— JEOC Sustainment Project in
the amount of $460,000;
• Urban Area Security Initiative Grant 2981505
— Fire Enhancement Project in
the amount of $787,954;
• Urban Area Security Initiative Grant 2981805
Planning Project in the
amount of $841,000;
• Urban Area Security Initiative Grant 2982005
— Management and
Administration in the amount $146,000;
• Urban Area Security Initiative Grant 3419803
— Interdiction and Disruption
Project in the amount of $845,296;
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office
of the Governor funds, the City Council assures that such funds will be returned to the
Office of the Governor in full; and
WHEREAS, the City Council designates any Assistant City Manager as the grantee's
authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject,
alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
THAT the City Council of the City of Fort Worth approves submission of the grant
application for the Projects specified in the Recitals above to the Office of the Governor.
