HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0019) M&C 19-0315City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE: 11/19/19 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 19-0315 LOG NAME: 13P19-0208 CAB AND CHASSIS TRUCKS PMD LSJ SUBJECT Authorize Rejection of All Responses to Bid No. 19-0208 Cab and Chassis Trucks for the City of Fort Worth Through the Property Management Department (ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS) RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize the rejection of all responses to Bid No. 19-0208 Cab and Chassis Trucks for the City of Fort Worth through the Property Management Department. DISCUSSION: The Property Management Department (PMD) approached the Purchasing Division for assistance with securing an agreement for cab and chassis trucks to be used by multiple City of Fort Worth departments for daily tasks. Purchasing Staff issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) consisting of detailed specifications as to the functionality, features and requirements for the new units. This bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram on July 10, 2019 July 17, 2019, July 24, 2019, July 31, 2019, August 7, 2019 and August 14, 2019. Eleven were solicited from the purchasing vendor database; four responses were received. Purchasing staff recommends rejecting all bids received for the cab and chassis trucks because the specifications were significantly changed late in the bid process. The changes included removing the minimum requirements for engine horse power, wheel base base length and spring capacity for the rear suspension. Upon Council approval, Staff will restart the bid process. A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
