Authorize Rejection of All Bids Received for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract 95, Part 1 (COUNCIL DISTRICT 8)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the rejection of all bids received for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract 95, Part 1 (City
Project No. CO2691).
DISCUSSION:
This project involves the replacement or rehabilitation of sanitary sewer mains located on city streets, alleyways and easements in the Historic
Southside, United Communities and Glenwood Triangle Neighborhoods.
The Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Contract 95, Part 1 Project was advertised for bid on September 6, 2018 and September 13, 2018. On
November 1, 2018, the City of Fort Worth received the following two bids for the construction of the project:

Ark Construction Services LLC. $1,522,020.00
Jackson Construction Co., Inc. $1,655,722.00
This project primarily involves the rehabilitation (via trenchless means) of existing sanitary sewer mains that were previously installed in the 1920's
and 1930's in the rear of residential lots without permanent easements. Subsequent to receipt of bids on the project, it was determined that
prescriptive easements rights do not exist and dedicated public easements were needed. Therefore, staff recommends rejection of all bids. If
approved, staff will seek to acquire all necessary permanent easements and re -advertise the project at a future date.
This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 8.
A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
