HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0034) RESOLUTION - Ed Kraus PCA Resolution NO. ACKNOWLEDGING AND SUPPORTING THE CONTINUED SERVICE OF EDWIN J. KRAUS AS THE FORT WORTH POLICE CHIEF AND DEPARTMENT HEAD OF THE FORT WORTH POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Edwin J. Kraus was appointed by the City Manager, David C. Cooke, to serve as the Fort Worth Police Chief in an interim capacity until the City completed a search and the selection process for Police Chief and named a successor for the former police chief; and WHEREAS, said appointment was confirmed by the City Council on May 28, 2019 by Resolution No. 5092-05-2019; and WHEREAS, during his 26-year tenure with the Fort Worth Police Department, Chief Kraus has focused on promoting community problem -solving, reducing crime and enhancing justice for Fort Worth residents; and WHEREAS, Chief Kraus has the support and respect of the stakeholders in the Fort Worth Community and his fellow officers; and WHEREAS, Chief Kraus has successfully demonstrated strong leadership in his role as Police Chief in an interim capacity since he was confirmed on May 28 2019; and WHEREAS, City Manager David C. Cooke announced that Chief Edwin J. Kraus has agreed to continue to serve as the City's Police Chief and department head of the Fort Worth Police Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT: The City Council acknowledges and supports the decision of the City Manager, David C. Cooke, to leave Chief Edwin J. Kraus in the position of Police Chief for the City of Fort Worth and as department head of the Fort Worth Police Department. Adopted this ______day of ____2019.
