A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS
APPROVING THE CONTINUED RECEIPT OF A STATUTORY SHARE
OF BINGO PRIZE FEES COLLECTED ON CHARITABLE BINGO
ACTIVITY THAT OCCURS WITHIN THE CITY; AND DIRECTING
THAT THE TEXAS LOTTERY COMMISSION SHALL BE PROMPTLY
PROVIDED A TRUE AND CORRECT COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION
UPON PASSAGE AND APPROVAL
WHEREAS, non-profit charitable organizations conducting bingo collect a 5% fee on
prizes awarded; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is currently entitled to receive a portion of collected
bingo prize fees; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 914 enacted by the 861h Texas Legislature requires the affirmative
approval of the City Council to continue the City's eligibility to receive a share of bingo prize fees
collected after January 1, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interests of the City for approval
of the City's continued eligibility to receive a share of collected bingo prize fees
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City of Fort Worth shall continue to receive a share of bingo prize
fees collected within the City on and after January 1, 2020, and thereafter.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is directed to promptly provide a true and correct copy
of this Resolution to the Texas Lottery Commission, to comply with House Bill 914, 86th Texas
Legislature.
