LOG NAME: 2020TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A SECTION OF THE 2300 BLK OF OLD UNIV
SUBJECT
Authorize the Temporary Closure of a section of Old University Drive at the Clear Fork Raw Water Pump Station between the south approach to
the parking area beneath Interstate Highway 30 and the north approach to parking at Fairfield Inn, Olive Garden restaurant, and Old South
Pancake House (COUNCIL DISTRICT 9)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council authorize the temporary closure of Old University Drive between the south approach to the parking area
beneath Interstate Highway 30 and the north approach to parking at Fairfield Inn, Olive Garden restaurant, and Old South Pancake House from
October 23, 2019 through December 8, 2019 to allow placement of four bypass sewer pumps on Old University Drive.
DISCUSSION:
PM Construction & Rehab, LLC, requests the temporary closure of a 900-ft section of Old University Drive at the Clear Fork Raw Water Pump
Station between the south approach to the parking area beneath Interstate Highway 30 and the north approach to parking at Fairfield Inn, Olive
Garden restaurant, and Old South Pancake House. This request is to provide sewer bypass pumping operations while the existing line undergoes
cured in place pipe rehabilitation (CIPP). This closure is necessary as three active pumps and one auxiliary pump must access an existing
manhole on Old University Drive in lieu of running four, 18-inch diameter lines from the next available manhole two thousand feet away and through
Trinity Park.
No public or private parking is impacted by this request.
Traffic control plans for this project have been accepted.
This project is in COUNCIL DISTRICT 9.
A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Management certifies this action will have no material effect on City funds.
