DISCUSSION: _. _ __ __ The City of Fort Worth, as part of the Dallas?Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, is a well established transshipment point for Mexican drug cartels involved in the distribution of illicit drugs and unlawful trafficking of firearms throughout the United States. The DFW Metroplex highway network and its proximity to the Southern border provide drug traffickers a variety of transportation options far the transfer of deugs into multiple states. Drug traffickers operating in the North Texas Region must communicate to arrange drug transactions and find drug distributors. For a majority of this communication, drug traffickers rely heavily on using ceI{uiar phones. Despite the sophisticated and complex tactics of organizational drug frafficking rings to frustrate detection by law enforcement, the popular use of cellular phones remains an exploitable weak point, However, tFre Fort V4'orth Po€iCe Department's jFWPD) Narcotic Section currently Ii?.C.K?"s t{'EE.'
