Authorize Execution of an Engineering Services Agreement with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc., in an Amount Not to Exceed
$300,000.00 for City-wide Miscellaneous and Storm Drain Rehabilitation Project Development and Engineering Services (ALL COUNCIL
DISTRICTS)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of an Engineering Services Agreement with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc.,
in an amount not to exceed $300,000.00 for City-wide Miscellaneous and City-wide Storm Drain Rehabilitation Project Development and
Engineering Services.
DISCUSSION:
The Agreement recommended by this Mayor and Council Communication will provide task -ordered engineering services for:
• Assessment of small potential drainage improvement projects city-wide and development of basic project scopes, schedules and budgets
that are feasible, effective and constructible.
• Assessment of potential storm drain rehabilitation projects to identify needed engineering services, such as preparation of easement
documents, and
• Performance of other engineering services as needed.
Pacheco Koch proposes to perform the scope of work for this contract for a not -to -exceed fee of $300,000.00. The City will issue individual task
orders to authorize the consultant to perform work under this Agreement until such time as the contract funds have been expended. The City, at its
sole option, may renew this contract under the same terms and conditions one time. In no event shall the term of the contract exceed 5 years from
its effective date. Staff considers the unit costs proposed to be fair and reasonable for the anticipated services to be performed.
This contract will not result in any additional annual operating cost for the Transportation & Public Works (TPW) Stormwater Management Division.
M/WBE Office — Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc., is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 15% SBE
Participation. The City's SBE goal on this project is 15%.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendation and award of the contract, funds are available in the current
capital budget, as appropriated, in the Stormwater Capital Projects fund. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation & Public
Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds.
