DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this Mayor and Council (M&C) Communication is to seek approval of an amendment to the existing agreement with Allied Waste
Services of Fort Worth, LLC d/b/a Republic Services of Fort Worth for garbage container, waste disposal, and recycling for City facilities. The
amendment would increase the annual amount of the contract by $324,836.62 for a new annual amount up to $1,624,183.10. M&C P-12159
authorized the execution of an Agreement with Allied Waste Services of Fort Worth, LLC d/b/a Republic Services of Fort Worth in an annual
amount of $1,299,346.48 based on the needs of Code Compliance, Water and Public Events Departments. Due to the expenditure by additional
departments and facilities requiring services, an increase in funds is needed. Staff requested that the Agreement be increased by $50,000.00
using the Administrative Change Order allowed by M&C P-12159 in November 2019 for a total amount of $1,349,346.48. The additional funding
will be used for services and to ensure that funds are available for future needs.
M/WBE - Allied Waste Services of Fort Worth, LLC d/b/a Republic Services of Fort Worth agrees to maintain its initial MBE commitment of 10%
that it made on the original agreement and extend and maintain that same MBE commitment of 10% to this first amendment. Therefore, Allied
Waste Services of Fort Worth, LLC d/b/a Republic Services of Fort Worth remains in compliance with the City's BIDE Ordinance and attests to its
commitment by its signature on the Acceptance of Previous MBE Commitment form executed by an authorized representative of its company.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that upon approval of the above recommendation, funds are available in the current operating budget, as
appropriated, of the participating departments' Operating Funds, and that, prior to any expenditure being incurred, the participating departments
have the responsibility to validate the availability of funds.
