SUBJECT
Authorize the First Amendment to the City of Saginaw Wholesale Wastewater Agreement to Add a Connection Point to the City of Fort Worth's
Wastewater System and Adopt Appropriation Ordinance (Saginaw Adjacent to COUNCIL DISTRICTS 2 and 7)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize the City Manager to execute the First Amendment for the City of Saginaw Wholesale Wastewater Agreement to add a connection
point to the City of Fort Worth's wastewater system (Contract No. 49448); and
2. Adopt the attached Appropriation Ordinance increasing receipts and appropriations in the Sewer Capital Legacy Fund in the amount of
$34,425.82 from available funds for the purpose of funding the Eagle Mountain to Fossil Creek project (City Project No. C01309).
DISCUSSION:
The City of Saginaw has requested a fifth connection point to the City of Fort Worth's wastewater collection system. The City of Saginaw will be
cost participating toward the sewer infrastructure of the 36-inch sewer main that is being installed by the Fort Worth Water Department as part of
the Eagle Mountain to Fossil Creek project to enable this connection. The total sewer infrastructure improvement cost for the portion of the gravity
sewer main serving that portion of the Saginaw service area is $127,503.02 per Million Gallons per Day (MGD). Saginaw's cost participation of
$34,425.82 for the project is based on the peak sewer flow of 0.27 MGD multiplied by the cost per MGD.
