Authorize the re -categorization of FY2020 appropriations in the Botanic Garden Special Revenue Fund in the amount of $80,434.00 from the General Operating and Maintenance category to the Transfers & Other category to facilitate a transfer to the ITS Capital Projects Fund; 2. Adopt the attached ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the ITS Capital Fund by $80,434.00 for the purpose of funding the BRIT Infrastructure project (City Project No. 102640). DISCUSSION: The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to re -categorize Operating and Maintenance funds within the Botanic Garden Special Revenue Fund (25011) previously allocated in the Park & Recreation Department to the Transfers & Other category to facilitate a transfer of these funds to a static capital project within the ITS Capital Fund (30112). The project is needed for the proper accounting of expenditures incurred for the technology infrastructure implementation upon the transition of services from the Botanic Garden to the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT). In preparation for the transfer of these services, the technology infrastructure needs must be addressed. The funding will provide for the procurement and installation of network cabling, controllers and switches for Wi-Fi connectivity, landlines for services (desktop devices and fax lines) along with printer copier devices. The Botanical Research Institute of Texas Project is physically located in (COUNCIL DISTRICT 7), but will serve Fort Worth residents in (ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS) A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the Botanic Garden Special Revenue Fund and upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the ITS Capital Fund, BRIT Infrastructure Project. Prior to an expenditure being incurred, the ITS Department has the responsibility of verifying the availability of funds.
