HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0057) M&C 20-0286City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE: 05/05/20 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 20-0286 LOG NAME: 20SW TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF TWO SECTIONS OF SUFFOLK DRIVE SUBJECT Authorize the Phased Temporary Closure of Suffolk Drive between Granbury Road and Winfield Avenue from May 11, 2020 through September 11, 2020; Stadium Drive from Seminary Drive to 100 Feet North of Seminary Drive from May 18, 2020 through June 18, 2020 and Suffolk Drive between Granbury Road and Stadium Drive from July 13, 2020 through November 11, 2020 for Construction Activities (COUNCIL DISTRICT 9) RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize the phased temporary closures of Suffolk Drive between Granbury Road and Winfield Avenue from May 11, 2020 through September 11, 2020; Stadium Drive from Seminary Drive to 100 feet north of Seminary Drive from May 18, 2020 through June 18, 2020 and Suffolk Drive between Granbury Road and Stadium Drive from July 13, 2020 through November 11, 2020 for construction activities. DISCUSSION: The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) requests the phased temporary closures of Suffolk Drive between Granbury Road and Winfield Avenue from May 11, 2020 through September 11, 2020, Stadium Drive from Seminary Drive to 100 feet north of Seminary from May 18, 2020 through June 18, 2020, and Suffolk Drive between Granbury Road and Stadium Drive from July 13, 2020 through November 11, 2020 on behalf of the contractor Circle C Construction (City Project Number C01669, City Secretary No.51535). The project scope includes removal of pavement, installation of storm drain junction boxes, bore and install a 90-inch storm sewer line, install various reinforced concrete piping, and make connections to curb inlets. This project is in response to frequent flooding in the area. Local residents, businesses and patrons shall have access to properties at all times. This road closure is located in Council District 9, Mapsco 90E, 90J. Traffic control plans for this project have been accepted. A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
