HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0069) M&C 20-0394City of Fort Worth, Mayor and Texas Council Communication DATE: 06/16/20 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 20-0394 LOG NAME: 60CITYWIDE WW METER R1-ADSANDHACH SUBJECT Adopt Appropriation Ordinance in the Amount of $279,600.00 to Fund the First Renewal to a Professional Services Agreement with ADS, LLC, and the First Renewal to a Professional Services Agreement with Hach Company for Citywide Wastewater Collection System Flow Monitoring (ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS) RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing appropriations in the Water & Sewer Capital Projects (W&S Capital Projects) Fund in the amount of $279,600.00 transferred from available funds within the Water & Sewer Fund for the Citywide Wastewater Collection System Flow Monitoring project. DISCUSSION: On June 5, 2018, Mayor & Council Communication (M&C) P-12204, the City Council authorized a Professional Services Agreement with ADS, LLC in the amount of $356,560.00 (City Secretary Contract No. 51017) and with Hach Company in the amount of $326,000.00 (City Secretary Contract No. 51038) for the Citywide Wastewater Collection System Flow Metering Project in order to monitor wastewater flows within the wastewater collection system, portable flow metering devices have been installed, allowing the Water Department to collect data to direct maintenance activities. On June 18, 2019, Mayor & Council Communication (M&C) C-29152, the City Council authorized Amendment No. 1 with Hach Company in the amount of $114,000.00 for the installation of an additional 5 meters on Sanitary Sewer Mains Big Fossil 54-inch M402A and the parallel relief main, West Fork Mains including the 90-inch M280B and 90-inch M-338B, and the existing 48-inch M-235 for a twelve (12) month monitoring period. The original contracts were for a two-year term and three one-year renewal options. ADS, LLC, and Hach Company, have agreed to exercise the 1st renewal of their contracts in the respective amounts of $147,600.00 and $132,000.00. Professional Services for Citywide Wastewater Collection System Flow Metering Project is one component of the overall project that includes the purchase and installation of temporary meters. This project will impact the Water Department Operating Budget due on the on -going maintenance and calibration requirements of the installed meters. These costs will be incorporated into future Water Department Operating Budgets. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current operating budget of the Water & Sewer Fund and upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the Water & Sewer (W&S) Capital Projects Fund for the Citywide Wastewater Collection System Flow Monitoring project.
