DATE: 06/23/20 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 20-0450
LOG NAME: 20WILL ROGERS MEMORIAL CENTER PARKING BOOTH RELOCATION
SUBJECT
Adopt Appropriation Ordinance in the Total Amount of $64,396.00 for the Will Rogers Memorial Center Parking Booth Relocation Project
(COUNCIL DISTRICT 7)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached appropriation ordinance adjusting receipts and appropriations in the Public Events
Capital Fund by reducing receipts and appropriations in the Gendy/Harley Parking Lot Rehab project (City Project No. 102271) by the amount of
$64,396.00 and increasing receipts and appropriations in the Will Rogers Memorial Center Parking Booth Relocation project (City Project No.
102741) by the same amount to re -configure the driving lanes and parking operation at the entrance and exit.
DISCUSSION:
The purpose of this Mayor & Council Communication (M&C) is to provide funding for the relocation of the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC)
West Lot parking booth. The relocation of the booth is needed to improve safety for attendants, accommodate new automation equipment and
provide wider entry/exit lanes to accommodate larger vehicles such as trailers.
On May 21, 2019, Council approved consultant services to redesign the West Lot driving lanes (M&C C-29130). The redesign is complete and
this M&C requests approval to fund the relocation phase. Relocation will involve realignment of the drive lanes and will require electrical and
mechanical work to be completed. If Council approves this M&C, construction will begin August 1 It 2020 and be completed by October 31It 2020
Funding for the relocation phase of the project will be provided from residual revenue from the Gendy/Harley Parking Lot Rehab project, which has
been analyzed and determined to be complete by the Public Events Department. The Public Events Department has authorized the use of the
residual revenue for the relocation project managed by the Transportation and Public Works Department.
A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that funds are currently available in the Public Events Capital Fund Gendy/Harley Parking Lot Rehab project,
and upon approval of the above recommendation and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the Public
Events Capital Fund WRMC Parking Booth Relocation project. Prior to an expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works
Department has the responsibility of verifying the availability of funds.
