Re: Lease Agreement ("Lease"") between the City of Fort Worth ("Tenant") and Edward
Traxson, dlbla The Barber Shop, Inc. ("Landlord") for office space at 6436
Meadowbrook Drive ("Leased Premises")
Dear Mr. Traxson:
The Lease expired November 14, 2010. Section 3 of the Modification and
Reinstatement of Lease Agreement between Tenant and Landlord allows for one 12
month renewal option, provided Tenant notifies Landlord of its intent to renew prior to
November 1, 2010. Tenant failed to provide such notice, but would like to exercise the
renewal.
By execution of this letter agreement, Landlord agrees to waive the notice
requirement contained in Section 3, and the parties agree that the new termination date of
the Lease is November 14, 2011. All other terms and conditions of the Lease remain
unchanged and in full force and effect.
To indicate your concurrence with the waiver of notice and renewal of the Lease,
please sign where indicated below and return two copies of the original executed
documents to the following address at your earliest convenience:

Authorize the Execution of a Lease Agreement with Edward Traxson dlbla the Barber Shop,Inc., for office
Space Located at 6436 Meadowbrook Drive B, for the Police Department at a Cost of$6,600.00 Per Year

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a lease agreement with
Edward Traxson dlbla The Barber Shop, Inc., for approximately 1,020 square feet of office space located at
6436 Meadowbrook Drive B. at a cost of$6,600.00 per year.
DISCUSSION:
The Housing and Economic Development Department,Real Property Services Division, at the request of the
Police Department,has negotiated the lease of office space located at 6436 Meadowbrook Drive B to be used
as a Police Department storefront. The previous lease agreement expired before negotiations between Real
Property and the landlord were completed.During the interim time frame,the Police Department remained
on a month—to—month lease at this location.
The lease term is for one year,beginning November 15,2009 and expiring on November 14,2010, with one
twelve—month option to renew.There is a rental charge of$6,600.00 per year for the space. The City of Fort
Worth is responsible for all utility and telephone payments. The City has occupied this space since November
15,2003.
RENEWAL OPTIONS—This agreement may be renewed for one one—year term at the City's option.This
action does not require specific City Council approval provided that the City Council has appropriated
sufficient funds to satisfy the City's obligation during the renewal term.
This property is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 5.
FISCAL INFORMATION:
The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the current operating budget, as appropriated,of the
Crime Control and Prevention District Fund.
