HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020/12/01-Attachments-M&C 20-0873City of Fort Worth, Mayor and Texas Council Communication DATE: 12/01/20 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 20-0873 LOG NAME: 202021 CONCRETE RESTORATION CONTRACT 2 SUBJECT (CD 2, CD 3, CD 4, and CD 7) Authorize Execution of a Contract with Omega Contracting Inc., in the Amount of $849,817.75 for 2021 Concrete Restoration Contract 2 at Various Locations RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize the execution of a contract with Omega Contracting Inc., in the amount of $849,817.75 for 2021 Concrete Restoration Contract 2 project (City Project No. 102861) at various locations. DISCUSSION: In the Fiscal Year 2021 Pay -Go Contract Street Maintenance Program, various types of street maintenance are grouped into specific contract packages. The 2021 Concrete Restoration Contract 2 provides for the repair and reconstruction of failed concrete pavement at twenty four locations listed on the street list attachment (City Project No. 102861). Construction for this project is expected to start in early 2021 and to be completed by summer 2021. Upon completion of the project there will be no anticipated impact on the General Fund operating budget. This project was advertised for bid on September 17, 2020 and September 24, 2020 in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram. On October 15, 2020, the following bids were received: Bidders Amount HQS Construction LLC* $473,930.00 Omega Contracting Inc. $849,817.75 Eakouc. $914,830.00 Urban Infraconstruction, LLC. $986,437.50 FNH Construction $998,705.00 �esthill Construction, Inc. $1,044,132.20 Pavecon Public Works LP $1,326,662.81 *HQS Construction LLC withdrew its bid proposal stating an error in their price. M/WBE OFFICE —Omega Contracting, Inc. is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 8% MBE participation on this project. The City's MBE goal on this project is 5%. Additionally Omega Contracting, Inc. is a certified M/WBE firm. This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 2, 3, 4, and 7. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Capital Projects Fund for 2021 Concrete Restoration Cont project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds. Submitted for City Manager's Office bT.
