HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0101) M&C 20-0942City of Fort Worth, Mayor and Texas Council Communication DATE: 12/15/20 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 20-0942 LOG NAME: 202021 CONCRETE RESTORATION CONTRACT 3 SUBJECT (CD 3, CD 5, CD 6, and CD 9) Authorize Execution of a Contract with Omega Contracting Inc., in the Amount of $1,130,395.00 for 2021 Concrete Restoration Contract 3 at Various Locations RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of a contract with Omega Contracting Inc., in the amount of $1,130,395.00 for the 2021 Concrete Restoration Contract 3 project (City Project No. 102882) at various locations. DISCUSSION: In the Fiscal Year 2021 Pay -Go Contract Street Maintenance Program, various types of street maintenance are grouped into specific contract packages. The 2021 Concrete Restoration Contract 3 provides for the repair and reconstruction of failed concrete pavement at thirteen locations listed on the attached street list (City Project No. 102882). Construction for this project is expected to start in early 2021 and be completed by summer 2021. Upon completion of the project, there will be no anticipated impact on the General Fund operating budget. This project was advertised for bid on October 1, 2020, and October 8, 2020, in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram. On October 29, 2020, the following bids were received: Bidders Amount Omega Contracting Inc. $1,130,395.00 Makou Inc. $1,135,125.00 Westhill Construction, Inc. $1,218,350.00 Urban Infraconstruction, LLC. $1,261,500.00 HQS Construction, LLC $1,307,975.00 Cl Pavement $1,309,995.00 FNH Construction $1,562,375.00 M/WBE OFFICE — Omega Contracting, Inc. is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 12% MBE participation on this project. The City's MBE goal on this project is 12%. Additionally Omega Contracting, Inc. is a certified M/WBE firm. This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3, 5, 6, and 9. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Capital Projects Fund for the 2021 Concrete Restoration Contract 3 project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds. Submitted for City Manager's Office by.
