HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 16857-03-2006Ordinance No. 16857-03-2006 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,000 FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE PURCHASE OF VARIOUS EQUIPMENT FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments far Fiscal Year 2005- 2006 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the General Fund in the amount of $35,000 from available funds for the purpose of funding the purchase of various equipment for the Fire Department. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in na way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full farce and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 16582 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. s~cTION ~ This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Authorize the City Manager to accept a monetary donation in the amount of $35,000 from an anonymous donor; 2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Gifts Funds by $35,DD0 from available funds; 3. Authorize the transfer of $35,ODD from the Special Trust Fund to the General Fund; 4. Adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the General Fund by $35,DD0 from available funds; and 5. Authorize the purchase of various equipment as specified in the grant disbursement guidelines. DISCUSSION: A charitable foundation that wishes to remain anonymous has generously donated $35,DDD to the Fire ©epartment to fund equipment needs. The donated funds will be used to purchase small tools and equipment for use at various fire stations as designated in the guidelines for disbursement of the grant. FISCAL INFORMATIONICERTIFICATION: The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached supplemental appropriation ordinances, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as appropriated, of the General Fund.
