HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020/11/10-Attachments-M&C 20-0827City of Fort Worth, Mayor and Texas Council Communication DATE: 11/10/20 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 20-0827 LOG NAME: 202020 CONCRETE RESTORATION CONTRACT 4 SUBJECT (ALL) Authorize Execution of a Contract with Westhill Construction Inc., in the Amount of $1,189,797.00 for 2020 Concrete Restoration Contract 4 at Various Locations RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of a contract with Westhill Construction Inc., in the amount of $1,189,797.00 for 2020 Concrete Restoration Contract 4 project (City Project No. 102696) at various locations. DISCUSSION: In the Fiscal Year 2020 Pay -Go Contract Street Maintenance Program, various types of street maintenance are grouped into specific contract packages. The 2020 Concrete Restoration Contract 4 provides for the repair and reconstruction of failed concrete pavement at twenty eight locations listed on the street list attachment (City Project No. 102696). Construction for this project is expected to start in early 2021 and to be completed by summer 2021. Upon completion of the project there will be no anticipated impact on the General Fund operating budget. This project was advertised for bid on July 23, 2020, and July 30, 2020, in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram. On August 27, 2020, the following bids were received: Bidders Amount Westhill Construction, Inc. $1,189,797.00 Makou Inc $1,271,635.00 Klutz Construction $1,341,027.60 FNH Construction $1,454,300.00 Urban Infraconstruction, LLC $1,461,675.00 Ti-Zack Concrete Inc. $1,545,220.00 M W Panel Tech $1,568,005.00 Reyes Group $1, 734, 312.00 Ken -Do Contracting $1,843,050.00 McClendon Construction $2,447,306.50 M/WBE OFFICE —Westhill Construction, Inc. is in compliance with the City's BDE Ordinance by committing to 10% MBE participation on this project. The City's MBE goal on this project is 10%. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities of individual pay items within the contract provided that the total contract amount remains within plus or minus 25% of the contract award. This project is located in ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Capital Projects Fund for the 2020 CR Contract 4 project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds.
