MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMMUNICATION ATTACHMENT LAURA WALTERS PUBLIC ART PROJECT FOR ROCKWOOD CLUBHOUSE Exhibit A: Artwork Design Narrative Description of Parallel Evolution The sculpture is inspired by the spiral of ammonites, whose fossilized remains have been found on the site, and by the arc of a golf ball's flight and trajectory of a golfers' swing (all based on the universal golden ratio), as well as the upward sweeping canopy of the mature live oak trees at the site. The open, linear design will cast a complex pattern of shadows on the ground. The artwork will be constructed of stainless steel rods painted in order to contrast with the blue of the sky and the green of the golf course and complement the materials of the new clubhouse.
