CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF NEIL NOAKES
TO POLICE CHIEF AND DEPARTMENT HEAD
OF THE FORT WORTH POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 143.013(a)(1) of the Texas Local Government Code provides
that the Police Chief shall be appointed by the municipality's chief executive officer and
confirmed by the municipality's governing body; and
WHEREAS, after a nationwide search and thorough assessment process, Neil
Noakes, was identified by the City Manager as the top candidate for Police Chief; and
WHEREAS, Neil Noakes is currently serving as Deputy Chief with the Fort
Worth Police Department; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED RY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
That the City Council confirms the appointment of Neil Noakes as Police Chief
and department head of the Fort Worth Police Department effective upon adoption of
this Resolution.
Adopted this 2nd day of February 2021.
