HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0059) M&C 21-0242City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE: 04/06/21 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 21-0242 LOG NAME: 202021 CONCRETE PAVING JOINT SEALANT FIRST RENEWAL SUBJECT (CD 3, CD 6, and CD 9) Authorize up to Two Renewals and the Execution of the First Renewal of the Contract with Scodeller Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $480,400.00, for the 2021 Concrete Paving Joint Sealant at Various Locations Project RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize up to two renewals and the execution of the first renewal of City Secretary Contract No. 53021 with Scodeller Construction, Inc., in the amount of $480,400.00 for the 2021 Concrete Paving Joint Sealant Project (City Project No. 103208) at various locations. DISCUSSION: In the Fiscal Year 2021 Pay -Go Contract Street Maintenance Program, various types of street maintenance are grouped into specific contract packages. On October 15, 2019, the Mayor and Council Communication (M&C 19-0247) and City Council authorized the execution of the contract with Scodeller Construction, Inc. for the Concrete Paving Joint Sealant project. That contract has two annual renewal options, but the M&C inadvertently failed to seek authorization of them. Scodeller Construction, Inc. has agreed to renew this contract under the same term, conditions, and prices. The 2021 Concrete Paving Joint Sealant project (City Project No. 103208) provides the cleaning and silicon joint sealing along four street segments listed below: CD Street Name Street Limits Block 3 Bellaire Drive, South Bellaire Drive, West — Overton Park Drive, West 3800 - 4299 9 East Berry Street South Main Street — South Freeway 100 - 687 6 McCart Avenue Pavement Change — Sycamore School Road 6900 - 7499 3,9 West Berry Street South Main Street — Bellaire Drive, South 100 - 3799 summer 2021 and to be completed approximately by fall 2021 Fund operating budget. Construction for this project is expected to start in early Upon completion of the project there will be no anticipated impact on the General M/WBE OFFICE — Scodeller Construction, Inc., is in compliance with the City's BIDE Ordinance by committing to 16% MBE participation on this project. The City's MBE goal on this project is 8%. This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3, 6, and 9. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Capital Projects Fund for the 2021 Concrete Paving Joint Sea project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of first renewal. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation & Public Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds. Submitted for City Manager's Office.
