RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize execution of an engineering agreement with Raymond L. Goodson, Jr., Inc. d/b/a RLG Consulting Engineers, in the amount of
$356,935.00, for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 113 project; and
2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing receipts and appropriations in the Water and Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the
amount of $599,973.00 for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 113 project (City Project No. 102785) transferred from available
funds within the Water and Sewer Fund.
DISCUSSION:
This Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for sanitary sewer and water main
replacements on the following streets, alleys and easements:

There are 3,947 feet of cast iron water pipe to be replaced in this project. In addition to the contract amount, $243,038.00 (Water: $70,250.00;
Sewer $172,788.00) is required for project management, real property acquisition, utility coordination, and material testing. This project will have
no impact on the Water Department's operating budget when completed. The sewer component of the project is part of the Water Department's
Sanitary Sewer Overflow Initiative Program.

M/WBE OFFICE: RLG Consulting Engineers is in compliance with the City's BIDE Ordinance by committing to 10 percent SBE participation on
this project. The City's SBE goal on this project is 10 percent.
The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 3, 5, and 6.
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Director of Finance certifies that funds are currently available in the Water and Sewer Fund, and upon approval of the above recommendation
and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the W&S Capital Projects Fund for the SS Rehab Contract 113
project to support the approval of the above recommendations and execution of the engineering agreement. Prior to any expenditure being
incurred, the Water Department has the responsibility of verifying the availability of funds.
