DISCUSSION: The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) requests extending the closure of Parker Henderson Road from David Strickland Road to 75 feet north of Willow Springs mobile home park driveway to July 31, 2021 for the installation of storm drain boxes on Prairie Dog Creek (City Project No. C01419). The request for this additional extension is due to ongoing and previously delayed utility relocations by the various utility companies sharing the poles. Mayor and Council Communication (M&C 20-0359) authorized the initial road closure through August 14, 2020. Parker Henderson Road is a 22 foot wide asphalt roadway and is to be reconstructed from Mansfield Highway to E. Kellis Street over the next several months. While it is planned to keep Parker Henderson Road open during construction and most of this upcoming project, the closure affects the portion of the roadway over Prairie Dog Creek north of David Strickland Road where a new bridge is being constructed over the creek. The closure is necessary as the size of the storm boxes being installed measures 11x11 feet. This section of roadway, as well as the remainder of Parker Henderson Road, will be constructed with concrete. Local residents have access to their properties at all times, and alternate access is provided to Prairie Dog Park. Traffic control plans for this project have been previously accepted. A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that approval of this recommendation will have no material effect on City funds. Submitted for City Manager's Office by.
