HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 20541-12-2012Ordinance No. 20541 -12 -2012 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE STREET LIGHT AND SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,500.00 FROM MONETARY DONATIONS FROM THE FAIRMOUNT NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION, FOR THE PURRPOSE OF PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF 10 STREET LIGHTS FOR THE FAIRMOUNT NEIGHBORHOOD; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2012- 2013 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Street Light and Signal Improvements Fund in the amount of $17,500.00, from monetary donations from the Fairmount Neighborhood Association, for the purpose of purchase and installation of 10 street lights for the Fairmount Neighborhood. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 20411 -09 -2012 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. Authorize the acceptance cfa monetary gift iU the amount of$17.50O.80 from the Fairmount Neighborhood Association for the purchase and installation of 10 street lights; and 2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations inthe Street Light and Signal Improvements Funds in the amount of $17,500.00 from monetary donations from the Fairmount Neighborhood Association, DISCUSSION: The Fairmount Neighborhood Association (FNA) wishes to donate $17,500.00 to purchase and install 10 streetlights aa part of their Streetlight Replacement program. A mutual understanding between the City and the FNA calls for the City to contribute up to $17.500.00 for this $35,000.00 project. The {}ib/'S funding will come from 2004C|Pfunds. Work is expected to begin February 2013 and b8 completed by late April 2013. All future streetlight projects in the FNAVVi|| be at 100 percent cost to the FNA. Beginning iO2DOD. the FNA has secured grant funds to install 135 historical streetlight r8p|iCoSas part Of8 neighborhood rehabilitation effort. The Fairmount Neighborhood Association iSo non-profit organization of residents and property owners dedicated to the preservation, rehabilitation, and reuse of old buildings and homes. The largest historic neighborhood in the southwestern United States, Fairmount has more than 1,000 structures that include bungalow and four-square homes dating from the late 1800s to the early 1920s.
