HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0051) M&C 21-0368City of Fort Worth, Texas Mayor and Council Communication DATE: 06/08/21 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 21-0368 LOG NAME: 80BGBRITMANAGEMENTAMENDMENT SUBJECT (CD 7) Authorize Execution of a First Amendment to a Management Services Agreement (City Secretary Contract No. 54201) with the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, Inc. in the Amount of $192,060.00 for the Payments Received by the City for all Bookings and Corresponding Deposits for all Events at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden from October 1, 2020 through December 31, 2024 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of a first amendment to a management services agreement (City Secretary Contract No. 54201) with the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, Inc., in the amount of $192,060.00 for the payments received by the City for all bookings and corresponding deposits for all events at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden from October 1, 2020 through December 31, 2024. DISCUSSION: The purpose of this Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to request authorization to amend the management services agreement in the amount of $192,060.00 for the payments received by the City for all bookings and corresponding deposits for all events at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden (FWBG) from October 1, 2020 through December 31, 2024. On May 19, 2020, City Council approved M&C 20-0347 authorizing execution of a management services agreement with the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, Inc. (BRIT). Effective October 1, 2020, BRIT assumed management of FWBG. Since BRIT took over management, the payments received by the City for events held effective October 1, 2020 and beyond needs to be paid to BRIT. The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7 and is classified as a special -use facility that serves on a City-wide and regional basis. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current operating budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Fund to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the amendment to the contract. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Park & Recreation Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds. Submitted for City Manager's Office by.
