HomeMy WebLinkAbout(0088) M&C 21-0394City of Fort Worth, Mayor and Texas Council Communication DATE: 06/08/21 M&C FILE NUMBER: M&C 21-0394 LOG NAME: 202021 BRIDGE REHABILITATION CONTRACT 2 SUBJECT (CD 4, CD 5, CD 8, and CD 9) Authorize Execution of a Contract with Ragle, Inc., in the Amount of $446,675.84 for 2021 Bridge Rehabilitation at Eight Locations RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of a contract with Ragle, Inc., in the amount of $446,675.84 for the 2021 Bridge Rehabilitation Contract 2 project (City Project No. 103097) at eight locations. DISCUSSION: The purpose of the Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) is to authorize the execution of a contract with Ragle, Inc., in the amount of $446,675.84 for 2021 Bridge Rehabilitation Contract 2 project at eight locations. The contract provides for the repair and rehabilitation of eight bridges listed below: Bridge Over Map District East Maddox Avenue Sycamore Creek 78N 8 North Riverside Drive NB Tributary of Big Fossil Creek 35V 4 North Sylvania Avenue NB Little Fossil Creek 49Q 4 North University Drive West Fork Trinity River 62S 9 Riverside Drive NB West Fork Trinity River 77D 8 Trinity Boulevard Hurricane Creek 55W 5 West Lancaster Avenue Foch Street 76B 9 West Rosedale Drive EB University Drive/Trinity 76J 9 River Major bridge repair and rehabilitation includes structural repair; concrete and metal rail installation/repair; expansion joint replacement; metal beam guard fence repair, and guardrail end treatment replacement. Construction is expected to start in late summer 2021 and be completed by winter 2021. Upon completion of the project, there will be no anticipated impact on the general fund operating budget. The project was advertised for bid on March 4, 2021 and March 11, 2021 in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram. On April 1, 2021, the following bids were received: IBCTX $489,780.00 Gibson & Associates, Inc $494,588.05 Urban Infraconstruction, LLC $548,026.00 Fort Worth Civil Constructors, LLC $677,146.00 Business Equity — Ragle, Inc. is in compliance with the City's Business Equity Ordinance by committing to 14% Business Equity participation on this project. The City's Business Equity goal on this project is 14%. This project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICTS 4, 5, 8, and 9. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the General Capital Projects Fund for the 2021 Bridge Rehab Contract 2 project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Transportation and Public Works Department has the responsibility to validate the availability of funds.
